Here we go

Couldn't keep me away that long could you?
The cast of "Spotlight"

That didn’t take long did it?

O.K., maybe it did thanks to some annoying word press issues, but Awards Campaign is alive again just as the Oscar season begins to hit all cylinders following the trifecta of Venice, Telluride and Toronto.  This new site is meant to be a home for my commentary on the season, the movie industry in general, some movie reviews and a post here or there on pop culture events I’m passionate about.* AC will also feature links to content I eventually create for other outlets (hopefully) and shout outs to other great stuff on the web (how old school of me).

Originally, this was just meant to be a personal website, but when my former business partner offered me the awardscampaign.com URL it made too much sense not to keep the brand alive.  Moreover, I love movies, I love writing about movies and I love the competitiveness of awards season.  I honestly have no idea what I’m doing next or where I’ll go, but I have no intention of taking my Oscar pundit hat off anytime soon (unless there’s an insanely well paying job where it’s just not an option).

So, please excuse the growing pains on this site over the next few weeks.  It’s been quite a long time since I’ve done all of this solo.  But, do me a favor, spread the word and let’s have some fun, O.K.?

And, yes, former HitFix friends, I promise to write as much in third person as possible (I know you love it).

*SNL, pop-dance music, RuPaul’s Drag Race and lord knows what else although I promise to keep my NBA and political rants to twitter.
